KENNEWICK, WA- Police said they are dressed as nurses… but they are really thieves.
Police in Kennewick, Washington said two women are going around and stealing packages from front porches in Washington state.
The Kennewick Police Department posted on Facebook photos of the women. As you can see, they are wearing scrubs, rubber gloves and what appear to be lanyards with identification.
But police said they don’t believe they are actually nurses and now they’re asking for help from the public to figure out who they are.
On Sunday, a Kennewick Police Department spokesperson told USA TODAY that there are actually a number of possible suspects, but they haven’t been able to make any arrests yet.
“It’s a little bit trickier when you have different names coming in and pictures of people [that] don’t match,” said Sgt. Todd Dronen.
On Saturday morning, police put up the Facebook post.
They wrote:
“The nurses we are fortunate to know only give their time, lives, and take the vitals of their patients (not their property).”
A 2019 survey by Xfinity Home, which is Comcast’s home security service, said 30% of Americans have experienced package theft – also known as “porch piracy”.
Late last month, a home security camera caught a very different crime on tape.
This one happened in Neptune Beach, Florida, where a brazen home invasion that took place on April 14th was caught on camera, thanks to the homeowner’s Ring doorbell positioned outside of his home.
However, the suspects in this case weren’t prepared to have shots fired at them after breaking in.
Police have arrested one of three suspects wanted for a home invasion that took place in Neptune Beach in April. Currently in the hospital due to a sustained gunshot wound, 23-year-old Leonard Larramore is under guard and held on a $100,000 bond due to the home invasion caught on camera.

Authorities noted that the single suspect in custody was also on probation for unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon.
On the video, you can see one of the suspects ramming the victim’s front door multiple times, until the door gives in. Then, the suspect makes his way in, followed by his two accomplices. Suddenly, a series of gunshots can be heard through the Ring video doorbell that is still recording.
Moments later, the three suspects run from outside of the home. Police confirmed that Larramore was shot in the chest, while the other two suspects are still at large and on the run. Officials noted that the homeowner is not facing any charges related to the shooting.

Back in March, we reported on another home invasion that took place in Georgia that didn’t exactly end well for the suspect involved.
On March 24th, a man allegedly armed with a knife attempted to break into a home in Eatonton. What the alleged home-invader was greeted with was a gunshot. I guess that’s why they say don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. that evening, police had received a call from a residence located off of Thomas Drive about a man sitting in a tree armed with a knife.

According to Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills, this knife-wielding tree-scaler was 28-year-old Hunter Layne Harrison.
When sheriff’s deputies were making their way over to the residence, another call came in from a neighbor of the complainant saying that very suspect was trying to break into the home.
Armed with a knife, 28-year-old Hunter Layne Harrison tried to burglarize a home in Putnam County — but the homeowner shot Harrison, who then fell nine feet trying to escape deputies. https://t.co/vZoXXvtPB1

Sheriff Sills stated that Harrison had threw a brick through a porch window of the home, and subsequently tried to gain entry from there. The homeowner in this case did what any sensible firearm owner would do – he grabbed his gun.
According to Sheriff Sills, the homeowner had instructed Harrison to leave the residence. In response, Harrison instead allegedly used a barbell to compromise another window and make his way inside the home.
That’s when Harrison got shot in his arm, according to reports. After firing the weapon, the homeowner gathered up his family and fortified himself with them into a nearby bedroom.
When authorities arrived to the residence, they happened upon a scene of Harrison writhing in pain on the ground of the kitchen floor. Surprisingly, Harrison was able to fight off deputies, but only momentarily.
The suspect tried to run outside of the home, but in an act of cartoonish-calamity, fell roughly 9 feet to the ground via an unfinished deck outside the door.
After the fall, deputies were able to secure Harrison and he was subsequently transported over to the Navicent Medical Center in Macon.
Once the suspect is released from the hospital, he’ll be booked into the county jail under charges of home invasion, burglary, disorderly conduct and four counts of felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
