Patrick Yoes National FOP President was pleased to report that a review of media mentions of the Top 11 National Law Enforcement Organizations showed that the FOP remains, by far, the most frequently cited organization. See below for the full text ⤵️ ➖➖➖➖ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | 18 AUGUST 2020 🔺 FOP Remains the Number One Voice of America’s Law Enforcement🔺 National President Patrick Yoes was pleased to report that a review of media mentions of eleven major law enforcement groups showed that the Fraternal Order of Police remains, by far, the most frequently cited organization. The Fraternal Order of Police was cited 18,568 times, compared to the combined total of 11,285 for the other ten law enforcement groups. These results further confirm the FOP’s status as the predominant voice for law enforcement officers in the United States. “For the last century, the Fraternal Order of Police has been the voice for the men and women of law enforcement in the United States,” Yoes said. “While I’m not surprised by these results, they clearly show that when the media looks for insight into the law enforcement profession, they turn to the FOP.” The report was calculated using Meltwater’s media monitoring database. Meltwater is a software as a service (SaaS) company that develops and markets media monitoring and business intelligence software. With the largest source database, Meltwater scans over 300,000 news sources, from national news outlets to small town newspapers. To determine the number of media hits per organization, the name of each organization was searched during the date range of 1 May to 7 August, 2020. “Here at the FOP, we are a team—this success is undoubtedly the result of the tremendous work of our members at the local, State and Federal level throughout the country,” Yoes said. “In a time when law enforcement is under attack—physically, professionally, rhetorically—these men and women of the Fraternal Order of Police are speaking out on behalf of their fellow officers, addressing issues head on and making news. The men and women of the FOP go to work every day to serve their communities and keep their neighborhoods safe.
