May is Police Officer Memorial/ Recognition Month. While our St. Jude March, and memorial ceremonies in Washington, DC and Springfield, IL have been cancelled due the COVID-19 pandemic, it is still important for us to recognize, remember, and pay our respects to officers who have died in the line of duty. On May 1st our Honor Guard maintained a 24 hour vigil in front of the water wall at the Gold Star Families Memorial and Park. The vigil begin at 12:00am on May 1st, and ran continuously until 11:59pm. Tonight, from one vehicle from every district was in attendance, and activated their blue lights for the final 15 minutes of the vigil.
